The Chicago Bears welcomed three trailblazing girls flag football athletes to Training Camp at Halas Hall this past week. Morton East’s Emma Jazmin Valenzuela, Oak Park’s Saniya Shotwell and Solorio’s Karla Martinez Rodriguez were honorary guests at training camp, as they are the first three girls in the state to go on to play Flag Football at the college level.

Martinez will be attending Cottey College this fall as she lays the foundation for future student-athletes to follow in her footsteps.

The three players got to meet bears Quarterback Justin Field, Darnell Mooney and Daurice Fountain. They also met new Bears’ President Kevin Warren and General Manager Ryan Poles and were featured on ESPN 1000 and NFL Network!
