After a loss to Evergreen Park in its last match, Agricultural Science hoped to win this game and bring itself back to winning ways, but Richards put together a great performance, bringing home a 7-0 victory.

“I feel like today we overcame that loss from Friday,” said Richards assistant head coach Diego Jacobo-Chacon on the win.

“On Friday they played a terrific game, but today I feel like they learned from that experience. We’ve been scoring goals, so that’s a good thing. The chemistry is building up game by game. Today we played even better. I’m just happy for the guys that showed up and they still kept the momentum off of Friday, even though we came off a loss. They came off and they came to play the game today.”

The opening 40 minutes was all for the home side, as itput five past Agricultural Science.

Richards started firing on all cylinders early, with the team’s first two goals coming from midfielder Daniel Munoz and striker Alex Perez. The Warriors got their third and fourth gola soon after when  Christopher Jaramillo and midfielder Alfredo Aponte put in tallies of their own.

Aponte got his brace and propelled Richards to a 5-0 lead before halftime courtesy of a beautiful pass from forward Jose Bamba.

Richards opened the second half with Bamba dribbling past two defenders and finished off his solo run not only with a great goal, but an acrobatic, Aubameyang-type celebration to top it all off.

Bamba spoke of his goal and the celebration afterward.

“I like to play football, and when I score a goal, it makes me happy,” he said.

Richards then put the icing on the cake on a beautiful goal from Andres Yepez.

“The thing that we have to work on is our offense which isn’t clicking a lot,” Agricultural Science head coach Brian Mcdowell following the loss. “We’re not making passes, we’re not making connections. When we play teams that are better than us, we kinda get into kickball and just kinda not moving the ball.

“During the game, the focus was off on defense, a couple of mistakes, and then it kinda snowballs.”

“For us to take that next step, yes. We all have to improve in our basic positions. But again, I’m proud of the work that these guys are doing. We were at a lower level last year, so we moved up. So at that speed of the game, we’re not used to it. So we’re gonna get used to it, we’re getting better day by day.”
