For the third year in a row, Chicago Public Schools’ Girls Flag Football programs got the unforgettable opportuntiy to compete at historic Soldier Field during halftime of the Bears 27-3 Preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals on August 17, 2024 . Student-athletes from Taft and King High School got to show their skills on the field, as the teams prepare for the first Illinois High School Association (IHSA) season of girls flag football! In 2021, the Bears, NFL Flag and Nike partnered with CPS to launch the first ever high school girls flag football league in the state of Illinois, resulting in three CPS City Champions (Back of the Yards, Taft and Lane) , two Bears state champions (Willowbrook and Lane) and over 100 teams participating across the state with over 75 of them being CPS schools.
