Coach Jovo Rogan’s Dirksen elementary school team captured the Chicago Public School (CPS) SCORE! Boys Soccer 7th and 8th grade Championship in thrilling fashion, with a down-to-the wire 2-1 victory over Jamieson on Thursday, Nov. 21, on Fritz Pollard Field at Lane Stadium.

Dirksen’s Andrej Kantardzic and Karim Soltana (penalty kick) tallied goals for the victorious Senators, while Jamieson’s Nathan Herrera scored the lone goal for the Eagles in defeat. All goals came in the second half after a 0-0 scoreless tie in the first 25 minutes.

SCORE! (Sports Can Open Roads to Excellence), is an elementary program offered by the CPS Office of Sports Administration for students in 5th through 8th grades.
