Chicago Public League, Marquee Sports Network Partner To Broadcast CPL Football Semifinal, Chicago Prep Bowl and Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO – Marquee Sports Network today announced a series of three upcoming high school football matchups to air on Marquee Sports Network, beginning this Saturday, November 11 as Simeon and Whitney Young face off in a Chicago Public League City Championship semifinal matchup on Fritz Pollard Field at Lane Stadium.

Marquee Sports Network will broadcast the following games:

  • Saturday, November 11 (4 PM) — Chicago Public League Football City Championship Semifinal presented by The Bob Loquercio Auto Group — Simeon vs. Whitney Young (Fritz Pollard Field at Lane Stadium)
  • Saturday, November 18 (TBD) — IHSA Football Semifinal presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois — Matchup and Site TBD
  • Friday, November 24 (1 PM) — Marquee Sports Network Chicago Prep Bowl presented by Prevagen — Matchup TBD (Fritz Pollard Field at Lane Stadium)

Broadcasts for the three games will feature Alex Cohen (Iowa Cubs broadcaster) as the play-by-play announcer and Henry Burris (Marquee Sports Network Bears analyst) as the game analyst.

New in 2023, Marquee Sports Network is the presenting broadcast partner of the Chicago Prep Bowl, an annual matchup dating to 1927 featuring the top available teams from the Chicago Catholic League and Chicago Public League. Last season, Simeon from the Chicago Public League secured the Prep Bowl victory, defeating Fenwick 33-30. This year’s game will be held on Fritz Pollard Field at Lane Stadium and will air the day after Thanksgiving.

In addition, Marquee Sports Network each week will highlight two Chicago Public League athletes of the week, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, recognizing student-athletes who turn in standout performances on the field.
