Senior Shamyriah Hines and sophomore Azariya Somerville will look to control the paint with excellent rebounding and interior scoring. Junior Ashley Guzman projects to be the team’s X factor with excellent passing, defense, and off-ball movement. Look for some big scoring games from Sophomore Amaria Reyes, three-point shooting from senior Jasleen Garrido, and very strong overall guard play from Senior Alysia Gause. Our backcourt will be further bolstered by the return of junior Maria Valencia from injury midway through the season. Our team is supported by outstanding managers Crystal Delgado and Makalia Knighton. Coach Ben Pedersen is entering his second year as head coach.

The Rangers are coming off their best season since 2006-2007. In what was supposed to be a rebuilding period, the Rangers fought to a first-place tie atop the NW Blue Conference standings. Mather defeated the other two teams tied for first during the regular season, however, due to one less conference game, they lost the tiebreaker. Heading into the 23/24 season, the program lost its top 3 scorers due to graduation. However, Mather expects to return 5 seniors for the upcoming season which will help balance out the young potential in the lineup. The Rangers look to continue their magical run from last season and look to win the conference outright so they may move up to the White Conference next year.
